Seven foals whose mothers were sent to slaughter have been rescued and have new homes in El Dorado County this afternoon.
Investigators were shocked when they visited a Manhattan, Ill., farm last month and found two starving horses without access to hay or water.
RENO, Nev. - A domestic horse found loose in Nevada with the brand cut out of its hide is drawing outrage from equine advocates concerned about the growing number of horses abandoned in the wild.

What is Food Stamps for Horses?

Our mission is to prevent starvation of the equine species individually through the development of food stamps for horses.

Food Stamps For Horses is being developed as a simplistic way to accept donations by credit or debit card via the Food Stamps for Horses’ web site. All horses previously placed in rescue now and in the future will be categorized as horse orphans and any horse whose owner is facing hardship due to economic times will be eligible to participate in this program.  Full Story |  Video
