National Petition

Because our world is driven by power and greed there is a movement to veto the HR 503 Bill, “The Prevention Of Equine Cruelty Act” in Congress. Thus slaughter of US Horses for human consumption can resume with a prospectus of much greater numbers being destroyed right here in the United States.

The Economic Downturn has created a Tidal Wave of Unwanted Horses. Horse Carcasses are being found in many areas of the Country, on roadsides in fields and slaughtered in their stalls. Private Owners in foreclosure or unemployed are placing their horses in already overcrowded Rescues or selling them unknowingly to a Black Market Slaughter on the rise. Slaughter is a horrific and barbaric end to so many of this beloved species and has certainly reached a zenith.

The slaughter must stop and the HR 503 Bill needs to be passed hands down. The irresponsible breeding of every kind of horse should be capped to a reasonable number regardless of the cost to any industry. Thousands of true horse lovers are killing themselves to rescue and protect the discards from the Breeding Industries. They are becoming overwhelmed by rising costs, limited space, lack of funding and no friends on hay day.

This is a severe nightmare that has already begun to unfold in the United States.

We Equestrians of all venues will not resort to these hideous outlets to solve our problems any longer. We are organized in 50 States and agree there are alternatives to innovate a solution for the protection of all US Horses. We agree the United States Horses are in a state of emergency.
